THINK GREEN...CELEBRATE SILVER!

In celebration of its 25th Anniversary Keep Cobb Beautiful recently unveiled its newest addition – a van emblazoned with its programs and volunteers.

“As we celebrate 25 years of service to Cobb residents, KCB wanted more people to know about who we are and to see some of the things that we are doing every day in our community,” KCB Public Programs Coordinator Gwen Baldwin said. “What better way to show our appreciation of our many volunteers than to show them at work? ” Those depicted on the sides of the van are actual volunteers for the Cobb County organization. Longtime volunteer Helga Hong (posing next to her image in the above photo), KCB Board Member Dr. Michael “Pic” Petelle, and Associate Board Members Gabrielle Arrington, June Utash and Jessica York, are also pictured on the van.Students Grace Buhmeyer (Timber Ridge Elementary) and William Zheng (East Side Elementary) represent the many recycling programs KCB has established in schools, businesses and parks around Cobb County. KCB staff will have free items to give away when you see the organization’s van.

KCB has the faces of their volunteers on local bus shelters! Watch for them around Cobb.

Caught in the Act!

Over 300 Harrison High School students joined Keep Cobb Beautiful for Earth Day at Bullard Farm.

As part of their school's Community Service Day, students under took a massive project to remove an invasive plant species around the farm, as well as a cleanup of the property. A Great Day!

KCB staff thanks our Keep Cobb Beautiful Board, Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, Solid Waste employees, The DOW Chemical Company employees, REI, and Keep Powder Springs Beautiful for their hard work that day.

We also wish to thank our Sustaining Sponsors (http://kcb.cobbcountyga.gov/sponsor.htm), Waste Management, Pit Stop, Starbuck's, and Lowe's, for their continued support of our programs!
